Ingredients

- 1 cup rice (regular and parboiled mix)
- 1 cup urad dal
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Soak the rice and urad dal in water for 4 to 6 hours, or overnight.
- Blend the soaked ingredients with yogurt and water until smooth.
- Ferment the batter in a warm place for 6 to 8 hours.
- Heat a non-stick skillet and lightly grease it with ghee or oil.
- Cook a ladleful of batter, spreading it in a circular motion.
- Flip when edges are crisp, cooking both sides until golden brown.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute urad dal with brown rice flour. Serve dosas with coconut chutney or sambar for a delightful meal.
