Description
A comforting dish featuring tender beef simmered in a rich, creamy paprika sauce, evoking nostalgia and warmth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons paprika (sweet and smoky blend)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- Fresh herbs (parsley or thyme) for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the beef: Cut beef into bite-sized pieces, season with salt and pepper, and let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Sear the beef: Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for 3-4 minutes until browned, then set aside.
- Sauté the aromatics: In the same skillet, lower heat and add more butter and diced onions. Sauté until translucent (about 4-5 minutes). Add garlic and paprika and stir for 1 minute.
- Create the sauce: Deglaze with beef broth, then stir in heavy cream and simmer. Add the beef back into the pan and meld together for 5-7 minutes.
- Finish with seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
- Serve & enjoy: Pair with buttered noodles or crusty bread to soak up the sauce!
Notes
For a lighter option, swap beef for chicken or firm tofu. Coconut cream can be used as a dairy-free substitute for cream.
