- 9 lasagna noodles
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups whole milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the meat sauce by heating olive oil in a skillet, then sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned, then stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine ricotta cheese with egg, garlic powder, salt, and herbs in a mixing bowl.
- Layer a greased baking dish with meat sauce, lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Rest the lasagna for 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to settle.
