Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups whole milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the meat sauce by heating olive oil in a skillet, then sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned, then stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Combine ricotta cheese with egg, garlic powder, salt, and herbs in a mixing bowl.
  4. Layer a greased baking dish with meat sauce, lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and mozzarella.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Rest the lasagna for 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to settle.
