Description

A comforting and delicious Chicken and Broccoli dish that’s perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces and marinating it in soy sauce and cornstarch for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat with oil until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from pan.
  3. Sauté garlic and ginger in the same pan for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and chicken broth, cover, and steam until bright green and tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine the chicken back into the skillet with a bit more soy sauce, cooking for an additional few minutes.
  6. Finish with sesame oil before serving.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnishing with sesame seeds or green onions.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure the chicken browns nicely. Fresh ingredients yield the best results.
