Description

A comforting and nostalgic recipe for Apple Crisp Bars that combines warm spiced apples with a crumbly oat topping.


Ingredients

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and softened butter in a mixing bowl and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the seasoned apples evenly over the crust, then top with the remaining oat mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
  7. Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes
