- 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Toss the apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and softened butter in a mixing bowl and mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Spread the seasoned apples evenly over the crust, then top with the remaining oat mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
- Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
