Description

A delicious Garlic Butter Steak Skillet that combines juicy steak with aromatic garlic and earthy mushrooms, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Let the steak come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of butter and let it melt, ensuring it doesn’t brown.
  3. Add the steak to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on thickness and desired doneness.
  4. Remove the steak and let it rest for a few minutes. In the meantime, add more butter and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Slice the rested steak against the grain and return it to the skillet along with the mushrooms. Stir until everything is coated in garlic butter.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Ensure the steak isn’t overcrowded in the skillet to achieve a nice sear.
