Description
A delicious Garlic Butter Steak Skillet that combines juicy steak with aromatic garlic and earthy mushrooms, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ribeye or sirloin steak
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 8 ounces cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Let the steak come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of butter and let it melt, ensuring it doesn’t brown.
- Add the steak to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on thickness and desired doneness.
- Remove the steak and let it rest for a few minutes. In the meantime, add more butter and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Slice the rested steak against the grain and return it to the skillet along with the mushrooms. Stir until everything is coated in garlic butter.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
Ensure the steak isn’t overcrowded in the skillet to achieve a nice sear.
