Ingredients

- 12 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water in a large pot, cook pasta until al dente, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Prepare the Steak: Season steak with salt and pepper, heat olive oil in a skillet, sear steak for 3–4 minutes on each side, then let rest.
- Sauté the Garlic and Mushrooms: In the same skillet, melt butter, add garlic and mushrooms, cooking for 3–5 minutes.
- Combine the Dish: Add pasta and sliced steak back to the skillet, toss with remaining butter and reserved pasta water. Stir in herbs and Parmesan.
- Serve: Plate and garnish with extra Parmesan and herbs.
Notes
Allow the steak to rest before slicing for maximum juiciness.
