Description
A decadent and rich chocolate pie with a silky filling and whipped cream topping, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Mix crushed graham crackers with melted butter and sugar. Press it into a 9-inch pie plate, then bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Let it cool completely.
- Make the filling: In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add in the cocoa powder and mix well.
- Incorporate the eggs: Add each egg one at a time, beating well after each addition for a smooth texture.
- Flavor it up: Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the taste.
- Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Final touch: Whip more cream to top the pie when serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can substitute dark chocolate for cocoa powder. Let the pie chill properly for the best texture.
