  • Author: joe
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A comforting and rich creamy pasta dish featuring sautéed mushrooms and a velvety sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the mushrooms in a large skillet over medium heat with butter and olive oil until tender and golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Create the sauce by pouring in the heavy cream and simmer for 4–5 minutes, adding reserved pasta water if too thick.
  5. Season with grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper; stir until melted and combined.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the creamy mushroom sauce, tossing well.
  7. Finish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter option, you can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or plant-based cream. You can also try different types of mushrooms for varied flavors.
