Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in between. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, being cautious not to over-mix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
