Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray or melted butter.
  3. Combine the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, and eggs in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture gradually, stirring until just combined.
  7. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity halfway.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Prepare the maple glaze by whisking powdered sugar, maple syrup, and a splash of milk together until smooth.
  11. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute the eggs with flax eggs or applesauce and use non-dairy milk.
