Ingredients

- 2 cups Fresh Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Whole Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- A pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries: Clean and hull about 2 cups of fresh strawberries, slice them in half, and sprinkle with half a cup of granulated sugar. Let them sit for about 30 minutes to macerate.
- Blend and strain: Mash the strawberries slightly, then strain the mixture to remove seeds.
- Make the ice cream base: In a separate bowl, combine one cup of heavy cream, one cup of whole milk, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Add the strawberry juice and mix until smooth.
- Chill: Cover the mixture and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
- Churn: Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions for about 20-30 minutes.
- Freeze: Transfer ice cream to an airtight container and fold in reserved strawberry chunks. Freeze for at least 4 hours.
- Serve and enjoy: Scoop into bowls and garnish with fresh mint or chocolate syrup.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor and consider adding a splash of lemon juice for brightness.
