Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 60 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
- Decorate as desired with icing and sprinkles.
