Description
Comforting and delicious biscuits filled with crispy chicken and drizzled with spicy-sweet hot honey, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- Boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
- Honey
- Your choice of hot sauce
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)
- 3/4 cup milk
- Butter (for serving)
- Salt and pepper (for seasoning)
Instructions
- Prepare the hot honey by combining honey with hot sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until mixed and set aside.
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Sauté in a skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat for 6-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Alternatively, bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes.
- Create the biscuits by mixing flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbs form, then stir in milk just until combined. Drop onto floured surface and knead gently, then cut into rounds.
- Bake the biscuits at 450°F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the dish by slicing biscuits in half, adding chicken, and drizzling with hot honey.
- Serve warm, optionally with side pickles or salad.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu or tempeh. Adjust hot honey spiciness according to taste.
