- 2 ripe avocados
- 4 slices of cheese (mozzarella, sharp cheddar, or pepper jack)
- 4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or whole grain)
- 2 tablespoons of butter (or olive oil)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients by slicing your avocados and cheese, and having your bread ready.
- Assemble the sandwich by layering avocado on one slice of bread, adding cheese, then topping with the second slice.
- Heat the skillet on medium heat and melt some butter.
- Cook the sandwich in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich and toast the other side until the cheese melts and the bread crisps—another 3-4 minutes.
- Serve immediately once both sides are golden, slice, and enjoy.
Notes
For added flavor, sprinkle salt, pepper, or herbs on the avocado before closing the sandwich.
