- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- ½ tsp baking soda
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, melt the butter and mix in both sugars until combined.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter with both sugars, then add the egg and vanilla.
- Mix until fluffy and then stir in the flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into your prepared dish, spreading it evenly.
- Dollop spoonfuls of the cookie dough on top of the brownie batter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick emerges with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use vegan butter and applesauce instead of egg. Coconut sugar can replace granulated sugar.
