Description
A quick and delicious dinner featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a sweet-savory sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
Instructions
- Marinate the beef. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add the beef strips and let them soak for at least 15 minutes.
- Prep the broccoli. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets and blanch them in boiling water for about 2 minutes.
- Heat your skillet. Add vegetable oil over medium-high heat and allow it to shimmer.
- Sauté the beef. Add marinated beef strips to the hot oil and brown for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
- Add broccoli and sauce. Toss in the blanched broccoli and pour in the remaining marinade, cooking for another minute.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary.
- Serve hot with a side of rice or noodles.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, whisk together cornstarch with water before adding to the dish.
