Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (or vegan butter)
  • 1 large egg (or flaxseed meal mixed with water for vegan)
  • ½ cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until combined.
  6. Fold in the peanut butter until you have a beautiful swirl.
  7. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
  10. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
