- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine the sourdough discard, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For optimal flavor, allow the bread to cool completely before slicing. You can add nuts or dried fruit for variation.
