Description

A sweet and savory ham glazed with maple syrup and bourbon, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bone-in or boneless ham
  • 1 cup 100% pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup smooth bourbon
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, Dijon mustard, and spices; bring to a simmer.
  4. Brush half of the glaze over the ham, reserving the rest.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil in the final 30 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  7. Let the ham rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.

Notes

For non-alcoholic options, replace bourbon with apple cider or a mix of apple juice and vinegar.
