- 1 bone-in or boneless ham
- 1 cup 100% pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup smooth bourbon
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp allspice
- Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, Dijon mustard, and spices; bring to a simmer.
- Brush half of the glaze over the ham, reserving the rest.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil in the final 30 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
- Let the ham rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.
Notes
For non-alcoholic options, replace bourbon with apple cider or a mix of apple juice and vinegar.
