Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne, rigatoni, or gluten-free)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Breadcrumbs, optional for topping

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the garlic and mushrooms in a skillet with melted butter over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Make the creamy sauce by adding heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and herbs. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce and mushrooms, mixing well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, topping with additional Parmesan and breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

For lighter options, consider using zucchini noodles or gluten-free pasta. This dish can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
