- 8 oz pasta (penne, rigatoni, or gluten-free)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Breadcrumbs, optional for topping
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the garlic and mushrooms in a skillet with melted butter over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Make the creamy sauce by adding heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and herbs. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce and mushrooms, mixing well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, topping with additional Parmesan and breadcrumbs.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
For lighter options, consider using zucchini noodles or gluten-free pasta. This dish can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
