  • Yield: 2 loaves 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delightful, fluffy bread enriched with a unique starter that brings warmth and tradition to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Starter: In a large bowl, combine your starter ingredients (flour, sugar, milk, and a bit of yeast). Stir this till it’s well mixed, then cover it with a cloth and let it sit in a warm spot for about 24 hours.
  2. Mix the Batter: After the initial fermentation, mix 1 cup of the starter with the rest of your ingredients in a large bowl. Carefully fold in flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs, milk, and oil.
  3. Add Flavors: Fold in your favorite add-ins, like chocolate chips, walnuts, or dried cranberries.
  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans and pour the batter evenly into them. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove the loaves from the oven and cool them in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, keep an eye on your baking time since every oven can behave differently.
