Description

Delicious butter cookies filled with your favorite fruit preserves, shaped into hearts to share love and joy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Jam or preserves (raspberry, strawberry, or apricot)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract and stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined.
  5. If the dough is too soft, chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls, flatten each, and press your thumb to create an indentation.
  7. Place a small dollop of jam in the center of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are light golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough if it’s too soft to handle. Be cautious not to overbake the cookies.
