Description

A delightful blend of crunchy Chex cereal, creamy peanut butter, and rich chocolate, these bars are a perfect sweet treat for gatherings and family rituals.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
  • 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients and prepare your workspace.
  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  3. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and corn syrup until it boils. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour peanut butter mixture over Chex cereal in a bowl and fold until coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the pan and press down evenly.
  6. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Spread over the Chex mixture.
  7. If desired, sprinkle sea salt on top while the chocolate is still wet.
  8. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
