Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium bowl over low heat and stir in cocoa powder until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In another bowl, beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy, then add vanilla extract and the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. Gently fold in the flour until just combined.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared dish. Lay strawberry slices evenly over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Allow cooling before inverting onto a plate.
  8. Meanwhile, melt chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle over cooled brownies. Sprinkle additional strawberry slices on top.
  9. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use coconut oil or dairy-free butter. For a vegan option, replace the eggs with applesauce or flaxseed meal mixed with water.
