- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a medium bowl over low heat and stir in cocoa powder until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- In another bowl, beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy, then add vanilla extract and the cooled chocolate mixture.
- Gently fold in the flour until just combined.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared dish. Lay strawberry slices evenly over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow cooling before inverting onto a plate.
- Meanwhile, melt chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle over cooled brownies. Sprinkle additional strawberry slices on top.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use coconut oil or dairy-free butter. For a vegan option, replace the eggs with applesauce or flaxseed meal mixed with water.
