Description

A delightful blend of fudgy brownies and chewy cookies, Brookies are the perfect treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter; mix until incorporated.
  4. Stir in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly underbaked.
  10. Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute coconut oil for butter. For a vegan twist, use flax eggs.
