Description
Delicious homemade Apple Cinnamon Rolls filled with sweet, spiced apples and topped with a vanilla glaze.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups Granny Smith apples, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for glazing
Instructions
- Warm the milk in a saucepan, then mix it with yeast and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix and knead until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
- Chop apples and mix with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread softened butter and sprinkle apple filling evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare a vanilla glaze by whisking powdered sugar, a splash of milk, and vanilla, then drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
For variations, try adding nuts or a hint of nutmeg. These rolls can also be frozen for up to three months.
