Description

A delightful cake infused with the warm flavors of cardamom, perfect for gatherings and cozy afternoons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (or vegan butter)
  • 2 large eggs (or flax eggs)
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cardamom (freshly ground preferred)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or almond extract)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cardamom; slowly incorporate into the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for the best results. Sift dry ingredients to prevent lumps.
