Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: Mix warm water and sugar in a bowl, add yeast, and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare the dough: In another bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough: Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the pretzels: Divide the dough, roll into ropes, shape into pretzels, and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Boil in baking soda solution: Boil water, add baking soda, and dip pretzels for 30 seconds.
  7. Top it off: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  8. Bake to perfection: Bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
