- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: Mix warm water and sugar in a bowl, add yeast, and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Prepare the dough: In another bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough: Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let it rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Shape the pretzels: Divide the dough, roll into ropes, shape into pretzels, and place on a baking sheet.
- Boil in baking soda solution: Boil water, add baking soda, and dip pretzels for 30 seconds.
- Top it off: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
- Bake to perfection: Bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm: Cool slightly and enjoy with your favorite dip.
