- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Optional: Nuts, Coconut Flakes, Sea Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, and then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually mix into the butter mixture.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and any optional add-ins.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies or shape them by hand.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown on the edges but soft in the center.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before cutting for better shape retention during baking. Don’t over-bake to keep the cookies soft.
