Deliciously sweet and savory Blue Cheese Stuffed Pears make for an elegant appetizer or dessert that impresses at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fresh ripe pears
  • 1 cup blue cheese (Roquefort or Gorgonzola)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds to create pockets.
  3. In a bowl, mix the blue cheese, chopped walnuts, and fresh herbs until creamy. Add honey if desired.
  4. Stuff the pear halves with the cheese mixture.
  5. Place the stuffed pears on a parchment-lined baking tray, drizzle with honey or balsamic glaze if using, and roast for 15-20 minutes until the pears are tender.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use just ripe pears to avoid mushiness. Feel free to customize the filling with other nuts or cheeses as desired.
