Description
A delicious and comforting dish featuring savory meatballs in a rich, creamy sauce, blended with earthy mushrooms and served over noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Beef (or turkey)
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg
- 1 Onion, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup Beef broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 cup Sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 12 oz Egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onions, garlic, and some salt and pepper. Mix gently.
- Using your hands, roll the mixture into bite-sized meatballs.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, searing until golden brown on all sides, then transfer to a plate.
- In the same skillet, add more oil if needed, and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the mushrooms and cook until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over the veggies, stir for a minute, then gradually pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and let it simmer until thickened.
- Return meatballs to the skillet and cook through until coated in the sauce.
- Turn off heat and stir in the sour cream until the sauce is velvety; taste and adjust seasoning.
- Serve over noodles and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
If the sauce is too thick, add a splash more broth for desired consistency.
