Description

Deliciously spicy and comforting meatballs with a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, and green onions.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Arrange the meatballs on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  6. In a small bowl, mix hoisin and sweet chili sauce, then heat gently in a saucepan and set aside.
  7. Toss meatballs in the sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and extra green onions.

Notes

For a leaner option, substitute ground turkey or chicken. These meatballs freeze well for up to 3 months.
