- 1 lb ground beef or pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, and green onions.
- Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
- Arrange the meatballs on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix hoisin and sweet chili sauce, then heat gently in a saucepan and set aside.
- Toss meatballs in the sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and extra green onions.
Notes
For a leaner option, substitute ground turkey or chicken. These meatballs freeze well for up to 3 months.
