  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats or chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, combine melted butter, flour, oats, and a pinch of cinnamon until crumbly.
  5. Grease a baking dish and spread the apple mixture evenly in the bottom.
  6. Sprinkle the buttery topping over the apples.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, substitute brown sugar with granulated sugar mixed with molasses, and use gluten-free oats if needed.
