Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter, flour, oats, and a pinch of cinnamon until crumbly.
- Grease a baking dish and spread the apple mixture evenly in the bottom.
- Sprinkle the buttery topping over the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, substitute brown sugar with granulated sugar mixed with molasses, and use gluten-free oats if needed.
