Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the flour and salt. Press this mixture evenly into the prepared pan to create a crust.
- Bake the crust for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- While the crust cools, whisk the eggs and combine with corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Once the crust is cool, pour the pecan filling over it and spread evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 30–35 minutes until the filling is set with a slight jiggle in the center.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
Notes
For an added twist, consider sprinkling chocolate chips or a dollop of whipped cream over the top before serving.
