Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or fruits
  • Optional: oats, spices, coconut, candy cane pieces for mix-ins

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg into the mixture and incorporate well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter-sugar mixture.
  5. Fold in your chosen mix-ins such as chocolate chips, nuts, and dried fruits.
  6. Scoop generous portions of dough onto the lined baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and center is soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the sheets briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
