Description
Delicious cinnamon rolls infused with pumpkin, perfect for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Orange and black sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Warm milk to about 110°F, then add to the dry ingredients with melted butter and eggs. Stir until combined and knead until smooth and elastic (5-7 minutes by hand or 3-4 minutes in a mixer).
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and nuts in a bowl. Roll dough out on a floured surface into a rectangle (1/4 inch thick) and spread softened butter over the surface.
- Sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over butter. Roll the dough up into a log and cut into pieces (1.5 inches thick).
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise until puffed (30-45 minutes).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over rolls after they cool slightly and finish with sprinkles.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use almond milk and for a twist, swap pumpkin puree with applesauce. Make sure to allow adequate rising time for fluffy rolls.
