Ingredients

- 1 lb medium to large deveined shrimp
- 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 lemon, for juice
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients: Gather and dice garlic and any vegetables.
- Cook the pasta: Boil salted water, cook pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Sauté the shrimp: In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter, add shrimp and Cajun seasoning, cook until pink and opaque, then remove.
- Create the sauce: In the same skillet, add butter and garlic until fragrant, pour in heavy cream, stirring and adding Cajun seasoning to taste.
- Combine everything: Add pasta and shrimp to the skillet, toss to coat in sauce, using reserved pasta water for consistency.
- Add freshness: Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice, taste and adjust seasoning.
- Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrients.
