Description

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring shrimp coated in a creamy Cajun sauce paired with pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb medium to large deveined shrimp
  • 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, for juice

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Gather and dice garlic and any vegetables.
  2. Cook the pasta: Boil salted water, cook pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the shrimp: In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter, add shrimp and Cajun seasoning, cook until pink and opaque, then remove.
  4. Create the sauce: In the same skillet, add butter and garlic until fragrant, pour in heavy cream, stirring and adding Cajun seasoning to taste.
  5. Combine everything: Add pasta and shrimp to the skillet, toss to coat in sauce, using reserved pasta water for consistency.
  6. Add freshness: Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice, taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrients.
