Description

A delightful and festive fudge made with tart cranberries and zesty oranges, reminiscent of cherished family memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (or high-quality dried cranberries)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cranberries: Rinse fresh cranberries well and remove stems. For dried cranberries, chop them coarsely.
  2. Melt Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine butter and sweetened condensed milk, stirring until smooth.
  3. Mix in Sugar: Gradually add granulated sugar, stirring continuously until dissolved.
  4. Add Cranberries and Oranges: Remove from heat and fold in cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer to Pan: Grease an 8-inch square baking dish and pour the mixture in, spreading evenly.
  6. Set the Fudge: Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours until firm.
  7. Slice and Serve: Remove from dish, cut into squares, and serve. Optionally, drizzle melted white chocolate over the fudge before slicing.
