Description

A delightful dish of bell peppers stuffed with a flavorful mixture of crab meat and shrimp, perfect for gatherings and family meals.


Ingredients

  • 4 bell peppers (red, yellow, or green)
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (or panko)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add shrimp and cook until pink, around 3-4 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine shrimp mixture, crab meat, bread crumbs, herbs, and spices.
  6. Stuff the bell peppers with the mixture.
  7. Place them in a baking dish, sprinkle with cheese if desired, and add a splash of water.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Let cool briefly before serving, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Substitute crab meat with tuna or lobster; for a veggie version, use sautéed mushrooms or zucchini.
