- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts
- 1/2 cup softened butter (for spreading)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (for glazing)
Instructions
- Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Warm milk and butter until melted, cool to lukewarm, and mix with brown sugar and eggs. Combine with flour mixture to form dough.
- Knead dough on floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in greased bowl, cover with damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts for filling. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over dough, sprinkle with filling, and roll tightly into a log.
- Slice log into 12 pieces and place in greased baking dish.
- Mix maple syrup and melted butter; pour into dish, adding rolls cut side up. Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and pour remaining maple syrup over buns.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
