Ingredients

  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • 1/2 cup softened butter (for spreading)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (for glazing)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Warm milk and butter until melted, cool to lukewarm, and mix with brown sugar and eggs. Combine with flour mixture to form dough.
  2. Knead dough on floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in greased bowl, cover with damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts for filling. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread softened butter over dough, sprinkle with filling, and roll tightly into a log.
  6. Slice log into 12 pieces and place in greased baking dish.
  7. Mix maple syrup and melted butter; pour into dish, adding rolls cut side up. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly and pour remaining maple syrup over buns.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
