- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the cranberry sauce by simmering fresh cranberries with 1 cup sugar and a touch of water until thickened. Allow to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
- Crumble butter cookies into fine crumbs.
- Assemble the trifles: layer cookie crumbs, cream cheese mixture, and cranberry sauce in serving cups.
- Top with whipped cream and chopped nuts. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Let the trifle cups chill to meld the flavors. Use room temperature cream cheese for better consistency.
