Description

A flavorful and comforting dish blending tender chicken with aromatic scallions, enhanced by soy sauce and sesame oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 1 bunch scallions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in soy sauce, cornstarch, and minced garlic for 15-30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add marinated chicken, and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed, then sauté scallions and ginger for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet, add additional soy sauce, stir, and heat through for another minute.
  5. Drizzle sesame oil over the dish and serve with jasmine rice or a salad.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu. Adjust soy sauce to taste to avoid overwhelming saltiness.
