Description
A delightful combination of crunchy pretzels, creamy caramel, and tart apples, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
- Soft pretzel bites (store-bought or homemade)
- Caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, thinly sliced
- Chopped peanuts or pecans (optional)
- Chocolate for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the pretzel bites: If making from scratch, roll the dough, cut it into bite-sized pieces, and boil in a baking soda bath. If using store-bought, preheat the oven according to package instructions.
- Bake the pretzel bites until golden brown, then let them cool slightly.
- Prepare the caramel by heating sugar in a saucepan until it melts and becomes amber, then whisk in butter and cream until smooth.
- Dip each pretzel bite halfway into warm caramel and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- While the caramel is warm, press thin apple slices onto each pretzel bite.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the top and let everything cool completely before serving.
Notes
Work with warm ingredients to prevent caramel from hardening too quickly. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
