Description

A delightful dish combining sweet baked apples with savory feta, honey, and tart cranberries, perfect for family gatherings and holiday feasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 firm, tart apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, e.g., walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash the apples thoroughly and core them, creating a pocket for stuffing.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled feta, dried cranberries, nuts (if using), honey, and cinnamon. Toss gently.
  4. Stuff each apple with the mixture generously.
  5. Drizzle melted butter and extra honey over the stuffed apples.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, removing the foil in the last 10 minutes to caramelize the tops.
  7. Once fork-tender, serve warm with additional honey if desired.

Notes

Feel free to substitute cranberries with raisins or fresh berries, and try different cheeses like goat cheese or blue cheese for variety.
