- 40 Saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Melt the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture boils. Boil for exactly 3 minutes.
- Pour the hot toffee over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let them soften before spreading evenly with a spatula.
- Top with chopped nuts and gently press them into the chocolate.
- Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate to set for about an hour. Break into pieces and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to keep an eye on the boiling sugar to avoid burning. Use high-quality chocolate for the best taste.
