Description

A comforting breakfast casserole made with crescent rolls, eggs, cheese, and sautéed mushrooms that brings families together.


Ingredients

  • 1 can classic crescent roll dough
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, chopped (cremini or button)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Fresh herbs (chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out crescent roll dough onto a greased baking dish, pinching seams together.
  3. Sauté chopped mushrooms and minced garlic in olive oil for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread the sautéed mushrooms over the crescent base, then add a layer of shredded cheese and pour the egg mixture over it.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
