- 3–4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the chuck roast and season with salt, pepper, and spices.
- Optional: Sear the beef in a skillet until caramelized.
- Mix BBQ sauce and beef broth in a bowl, adjusting to taste.
- Place beef in the slow cooker and pour sauce over it, coating thoroughly.
- Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until tender.
- Shred beef in the slow cooker and mix with sauce before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, use vegetable broth; for added sweetness, include a splash of apple cider vinegar or brown sugar.
