Description
A festive and moist red velvet poke cake filled with sweetened condensed milk and topped with creamy cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 3 large Eggs
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 can (14 oz) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and buttermilk. Stir until well-incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes, then poke holes all over the top with the handle of a wooden spoon.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the warm cake and let it soak in. Allow the cake to cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once the cake is cool, frost it with the cream cheese mixture.
- Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving. Decorate with sprinkles or crushed candies as desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider using cream cheese spread instead of frosting or reducing the amount of frosting to lighten it up. Serve chilled or warm for the best experience.
