Description

A festive and moist red velvet poke cake filled with sweetened condensed milk and topped with creamy cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 can (14 oz) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and buttermilk. Stir until well-incorporated.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes, then poke holes all over the top with the handle of a wooden spoon.
  5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the warm cake and let it soak in. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  6. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Once the cake is cool, frost it with the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving. Decorate with sprinkles or crushed candies as desired.

For a richer flavor, consider using cream cheese spread instead of frosting or reducing the amount of frosting to lighten it up. Serve chilled or warm for the best experience.
