Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 3 large eggs

  • ½ cup milk or non-dairy milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Sift together the flour, sugar, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter with the sugar in a separate bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
